Computation of the reflection matrix for a finite, plane-parallel, vertically-inhomogeneous, isotropic atmosphere is considered. The fast invariant imbedding method of Sato, Kawabata, and Hansen is extended to include polarization. Computational aspects of this extension are discussed in detail, and numerical results are presented for the angular distribution of polarized radiation reflected by an atmosphere with Rayleigh scattering and exponentially-varying albedo for single scattering.
