, 2015: Volcanic aerosol radiative properties. PAGES, 23, no. 2, 50-51.
Large sporadic volcanic eruptions inject large amounts of sulfur bearing gases into the stratosphere which then get photochemically converted to sulfuric acid aerosol droplets that exert a radiative cooling effect on the global climate system lasting for several years.
