Global sea level is rising but at a rate, of about 1-2 mm per year or 10-20 cm per century, that is difficult to measure accurately. Several mechanisms may contribute to the net increase but it is difficult to distinguish their individual contributions. These conclusions are emphasized by Barnett and in several other recently published papers.
