ABSTRACT

Canuto et al. 1985

Canuto, V.M., W. Cabot, G.J. Hartke, and A. Battaglia, 1985: Is the Kolmogoroff model applicable to large-scale turbulence? Astrophys. Space Sci., 116, 367-375, doi:10.1007/BF00653791.

We discuss the difficulties encountered when the Heisenberg-Kolmogoroff model for turbulence is applied to the large-sclae turbulence in: (A) molecular clouds (specifically the velocity vs. size relationship) and (B) stars (specifically, the estimate of convective fluxes).

A new model for large-scale turbulence is, therefore, needed.
