Some aspects concerning the behaviour of matter at high densities are considered. First, it is shown that high-energy proton-proton scattering can be used, based on the Landau hydrodynamical model, to obtain information about the equation of state. Next, we consider pulsar interiors that have baryonic liquids composed of nucleons and various hyperons. We present a new set of hyperonic potentials based on the one-boson-exchange model, and outline a multi-component, self-consistent many-body treatment for the baryonic liquid. Lastly, we emphasize the role of the spin-2 interaction, arising out of the nucleon-nucleon fo meson exchange, and present a relativistic model for dense matter that includes such interaction.
