ABSTRACT

Canuto and Solinger 1970

Canuto, V., and A.B. Solinger, 1970: Conductivity in neutron star crusts. Astrophys. Lett., 6, 141-142.

The conductivity in the crust of neutron stars has been calculated by two different methods. The results are compared and found to be in good agreement in the range of applicability. Thus the simple formula σ = const × T6-1ρ62/3 sec-1 describes the electrical conductivity under conditions appropriate to the outer kilometer or so of the star (T6 = 10-6T, ρ6 = 10-6 ρ/μe).
