In a series of papers, we have studied the detailed properties of matter in intense magnetic fields. In this paper, we shall discuss some results of astrophysical interest. We have considered two cases: (a) the magnetic moment of the electron is the Dirac moment eℏ/2mc and (b) in addition to the Dirac moment the electron also possesses a Schwinger anomalous magnetic moment aeℏ/4πmc.
